Help Sweet Desna Get the Hip Surgery she Desperately Needs

Desna is back in foster care at OPH, awaiting surgery. This surgery aims to repair her left hip so she can live pain-free and have another chance at life in loving forever home. Please give what you can and show Desna there's hope. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for medical procedures and after-care.

Poor Desna's had a rough go of it. She first came to OPH heartworm positive with deformed back legs. However, once she completed heartworm treatment, and had her back legs assessed, she was given the green light for adoption.

Fast forward three years later, Desna gained some much-needed weight at her new home. Unfortunately, sometimes weight-gain in dogs with compromised limbs causes both mental and physical deterioration. Sadly, this was the case with Desna. As her hind end grew worse, she became withdrawn and cranky. Ultimately, she was returned.

Desna is doing well in a more subdued environment where she can take time to open up. She loves being outside, going for walks, and rolling in wet grass.
