#10420 Crater Lake

Adoption Pending
Medium-size, Female, Adult Hound,

Hi! My name is Crater Lake and I'm part of the National Parks transport that recently arrived at OPH! I'm guessed to be a 5 year old hound mix. I'm a sweet and unique girl and I currently weigh about 48 lbs.

Are you looking for a furry companion who is sweet and a great snuggler? Crater Lake is a medium sized female dog who is easy-going, calm, affectionate and social with people. She seems to like guidance, and responds to some commands (sit, stay, walking on leash- heel, return). Lake seems curious and alert. She is currently with her foster family while being treated for heartworm. If you are interested in adding a new furry family member to your home, Crater Lake is looking for her forever home.

This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.

Crater Lake is up-to-date on her vaccinations and has been spayed. Crater Lake is currently being fostered in Annapolis, MD.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
