Hi!!!! My name is Porcupine Ray, but you can call me Ray. I’m guessed to be about 1.5-2 years old, a Hound Mix, and I weigh about 38 lbs. I have a very petite frame and I'm a lot smaller in real life than what I look like in photos.
Some things to know about me!
I'm housebroken and crate trained! I sometimes have little excitement pees, but this can be worked on. I'm a very smart guy and already know sit, paw, and down. I'm working on learning stay and here, which I'm picking up on pretty quickly! I LOVEEEEE other dogs, I'd actually love a home with another furfriend to play with. If there is a furfriend in the house, I really enjoy playing so playmates who like to romp around would be ideal. My playstyle can come across as rough and I may not always know when the other dog is done playing.
Ready to take an adventure? Well I'm your guy! I'd love to be a walking or hiking buddy. I've gone on a few walks with OPH volunteers and I don't really care about runners, bikers, or anything we pass. I mostly just want to sniff everything - I mean I am hound! I do have interest in smaller animals like squirrels or birds so training will be key here. You may hear my hound bark when I see a squirrel or bunny in the yard, I'm saying 'let me out there'! I walk OK on leash I do tend to dart from side to side, but I am smaller so I'm definitely manageable. Wait TOYS! I forgot to say how obsessed I am with toys, they are seriously the best! You know what else is the best? Cuddling!! I'm a 10/10 cuddler, and I'm happiest when I'm with my people.
Overall, I'm a really good dog with medium to high energy. With the proper shutdown, introduction to your life and home, and training I will be an AMAZINGGGGG DOGGO!
I'm looking for my furever family! Is that you? Well then what are you doing?! Apply today!!
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Davidsonville, MD for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Davidsonville.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
