Hi, My name is Leon and I came to OPH on 9/9. I'm guessed to be a 4 year old chi mix and weigh about 8lbs. I am a sweet guy with some chihuahua attitude. I am cute and can be extra snuggly when I want to be. I get along with other dogs of any size as long as they don't annoy me. If they make me mad, I don't hesitate to growl to tell them to back off. I would just as soon growl at a 60lb. dog as a 5lb. one. Size doesn't scare me! I'm mostly good for my foster mom but occasionally I get annoyed with her too. For example, I do ok once I am in a crate, but I usually don't want to go in one unless there is food involved. I don't mind growling at my foster mom if she tries to pick me up to put me in a crate without my required treat. I may not do well with kids because of my occasional grumpy nature. However, I'm adorable and can be really playful when the mood strikes me.
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
