My name is Minnie Mae; I came to OPH on December 2nd. I’m guessed to be a Hound/Shepherd mix estimated to be about 12 months old. I’m a sweet gal at 25 lbs.
I'm a little shy around new people, but I am warming up everyday. I really like my doggy foster siblings! Following them around and learning what it’s like to be a loved dog in a safe home. I love playing with them. I would really like to be in a home with another dog. I sleep well through the night best when I’m cuddled up next to you, but I will sleep in the crate if I have to. My foster mom lets me hang out with my puppy foster siblings when she’s not home and I do great outside of the crate!
I’m still working on walking on a leash and going potty outside—the city noises made it scary to go outside, but I’m used to them now and love hanging out in the yard at my foster home.
I was very scared when I first got to the rescue, but my foster mom is helping me learn to trust people. I hope you can help me with that too! She says I’m very sweet, and is enjoying watching my playful puppy personality shine through. Once I trust you, I love to give kisses, get belly rubs and lay next to you or snuggle.
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
