Hi my name is Meeko, which is fitting because I can be a little meek.
I’m am guessed to be a small to medium 34lbs, 10 month old, Black Mouth Cur and Hound mix.
-My crate is my fortress - it is my safe place where I like to sleep at night
-I’m a quiet house guest -
-I would do best with another dog, it would help my confidence! Click here to see me in action with fellow foster brother OPH Saturday! Click here to see me in at an adoption event!
-I am treat motivated, so keep ‘em coming - my foster mom has taught me how to sit.
-I’m working on my outdoor potty training, and I'm pretty good at it but I know how to use a potty pad if can't make it outside!
-I am pretty good on a leash but in strange environments, need a little coxing to get going.
Dogs, I have gotten along with all doggies I have met, but people are still a scary for me! My foster mom and family are showing me that people don't have to be scary but I will need a family willing to be patient with me as I learn to continue to trust humans. If I have a pup sibling that is sure to help me grow! I’m a shy guy with a lot of potential, take a chance on me - Apply today!
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
