About Rembrandt:
Rembrandt is an adorable little pup from our Artist Pups litter. With his silky ears and striking brindle coat with white paws, this Shar Pei mix is sure to steal your heart. With his extremely short coat he will be low shedding, too.

Personality:
Rembrandt is the first puppy to grab a toy and run to hide with it, showing his playful and mischievous side. This guy is full of fun and interaction, loving to chase, run, and tumble. Yet, he also enjoys quieter moments, happily holding his toy next to you while you read a book or watch the latest documentary on Netflix. His spunky and curious nature keeps him interested in everything around him.

In addition to his playful side, Rembrandt embodies some of the traits of his namesake, the painter Rembrandt. He is observant, intelligent, and has a thoughtful demeanor. His keen awareness of his surroundings and his affectionate nature make him a joy to be around.

Training:
Rembrandt is at the perfect age to begin his training journey. He’s bright and eager to please, making him an excellent candidate for basic obedience training and housebreaking. With consistent positive reinforcement and a bit of patience, Rembrandt will quickly learn new commands and behaviors, growing into a well-mannered and loyal companion.

Ideal Home:
Rembrandt would thrive in a loving and active home where he can receive plenty of attention and exercise. He would be a great fit for families, singles, or couples who have the time and energy to dedicate to his upbringing. A home with a yard or access to outdoor spaces would be ideal for his playful nature. He would also enjoy the companionship of other dogs.

Health:
Rembrandt is a healthy young pup and will come microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations and deworming. Regular vet check-ups and a balanced diet will help him grow into a robust and healthy adult. Please note that Rembrandt is so young, he has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that his immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, he MUST stay out of public places where he could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for Rembrandt’s medical safety and longevity.

If you’re looking for a loving, energetic, and delightful new family member, Rembrandt might be the perfect addition to your home. Apply today and see if he’s the furry friend you’ve been searching for!

Please keep in mind that Rembrandt is searching for...

Someone who won't leave him home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until he is older. The older he is, the more he can stay home alone. He just doesn't want you to get mad at him if he has accidents or chews things he's not supposed to when you leave him for too long. He's a puppy, so he gets bored quickly and when he's bored he could get in trouble.

He is looking for his forever home, not his for-right-now home. So as he gets bigger, he needs someone to teach him how to be the best dog he can be. He is young and still learning. You may want to teach him some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help him bond with you. That sounds like fun!

Rembrandt (Artist Pups) Rembrandt (Artist Pups) is currently being fostered in Manassas, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
