Gala is two years old, forty-five pounds, and has a boatload of personality. Funny, athletic, and intelligent, this gorgeous girl has a lot of love to give. She's loves adventures, car rides, and is a top-notch running buddy. Check out her adoption video here!

Gala would do best as an only dog, but she's more than enough dog for one family. Her boundless energy, smarts and devotion make her a once-in-a-lifetime dog who will need an experienced dog person.

Gala is very motivated to chase small critters and will keep the rabbits and squirrels out of your garden and yard. A dog-savy cat could probably tolerate her, but not a scaredy-cat. Her clever mind enjoys puzzle-toys and she'd excel at backyard agility. She especially loves birds - so catching a frisbee might be in her future. She is housebroken and crate trained and likes water.

Gala needs a slow introduction to teenage boys. Her ideal adopter will be an experienced dog person who is looking for his/her next best friend and has the time and patience for a dog with Gala's clever mind and enormous heart.

You can find more pictures and stories of Gala in her foster mom's Facebook group, Another Good Dog (www.facebook.com/groups/anothergooddog).

This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. Gala has undergone heartworm treatment and has recovered well. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics#q12
