Are you lookig for your next best friend? Well, look no further. Gala is the life of the party. She's got a sparkling personality and a sense of humor, and you would be hard-pressed to find a smarter pup. And talk about lovable - this pup's devotion knows no bounds. She's looking for someone with a heart as big as hers and a little dog experience who can handle her enthusiasm and endless affection.
Gala is two years old, 45 pounds, athletic, intelligent, and full of personality. This devoted, sensitive girl is a first rate walking/running/hiking partner who also enjoys snuggling on the couch (she's an Eagles fan). Gala loves to go for car rides, is housebroken, and crate-trained. She is used to spending extended periods of time in her crate while her family is working. As long as she gets regular exercise and has plenty of chew toys, she doesn't mind a bit.
Most other dogs make Gala anxious, so she would do best in a home where she is the only dog. She doesn't like people to sneak up to her, so slow introductions are best, but once you she knows you, her devotion knows no bounds. If you're looking for a home-security system, Gala's your girl.
This clever pup could learn just about any trick. She also knows sit, stay, and come command, and is working on her indoor manners. A dog-savy cat could probably tolerate Gala (she lives peaceably with one now), but not a scaredy-cat.

Her boundless energy, smarts and devotion make her a once-in-a-lifetime dog who will need an experienced dog person who is patient and committed.
Gala tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue, although she did not display physical symptoms. While in foster care, she received treatment and is now heartworm negative! Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
