#1892 Tampa

Medium-size, Female, Young Labrador Retriever,
Tampa is up-to-date on her shots and has been spayed. Tampa is currently being fostered in Nokesville, VA.

I’m Tampa! I’m a petite girl weighing in at 24 pounds. I'm about 9 months old and appear to be a Lab mix. My foster family thinks I may be mixed with boxer. I'm very close to full grown so I'm a great size for a smaller environment.

I arrived at OPH on March 8th and have been learning the ropes in my foster family. They are happy to report that I have been an amazing house guest and have the following things they want to highlight to you.

~ I am quiet in my crate.
~ I have not had any accidents in their home.
~ I have been friendly with the foster puppies I am sharing the foster space with, honestly I love them.
~ I am shy. It took me a few days to warm up 100% to my foster family but now that I have they are great. They have lots of cookies here, I LOVE cookies.
~ I am gentle taking treats.
~ I walk great on a leash.
~ I am wary of the unknown but learn the ropes quickly. If you live in a super busy area my foster family thinks I might not be comfortable there for a number of days but I will adjust quickly.
~ I have been loving and gentle with all the members of my foster family.
~ I have a bark but I have not shown it to my foster family. I have honestly not made a peep there. Week 3 and not a bark yet.
~ I have thoughtful eyes....I like to take things in.
~ I am a quick gal to do my business outside. Foster mom likes that on below freezing mornings she says.

Hi, I'm Tampa's foster mom. She is a super sweet, loving, quiet girl who is a bit shy at first. It's taken us a couple of days to get her over that hump but she is well on her way to being an amazing pup in and out of her comfort zones. She would thrive in an environment in which she is given time to overcome her fears of the unknown. We live in a country setting in Fauquier County and have a fenced in yard. She loves taking a walk down the street or playing in the yard. I think it would take her a while to get used to living in a city environment but I do think it could be done with patience and understanding on your part. She is the easiest guest we have had in 2019. Keeps her crate clean, no messes, LOVES the foster puppies and is very sweet.

Tampa will be snatched up quick. She is a great size, has an amazing personality and will make a loyal family pet. Don't delay, apply today to adopt her.
