Hello! My name is Slat and I am part of the OPH Rescue Road Trip litter (named after the volunteers on the team). I am the smallest by size in my litter, but by no means the smallest personality! I am a soft black color with a tiny bit of white on my chest and my hind toes. I am feisty and opinionated and hold my own in any crowd. I will probably be about 35-40 pounds when I am grown if I take after my mama.
Due to his small size and young age, we recommend that he goes to a home with children that are respectful of his size and age. Because he is a baby, he will require an adopter who is not out of the home for more than 4 hours at one time to continue her training - no exceptions! He is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and will need to be altered at the appropriate age per the spay/neuter agreement you will be signing at the time of adoption.
Please note that because he is so young, he has only received 2 sets of the required 3 sets puppy vaccinations. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that his immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. He MUST stay out of public places where he could be exposed to the germs of many other dogs for another 8-10 weeks after he goes home. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity
He is fostered in New Freedom, PA and ready for adoption as soon as 12 June 2019. Apply to adopt me today.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
