Meet Kirk Cameron – a lovable, chihuahua mix, estimated to be about 1 year old who tips the scale at roughly 20lbs.
Kirk is full of energy and loves to play! He does very well with all the dogs in his foster home but does gravitate towards younger, equally high energy pups that can keep up with him. Kirk also hasn’t had any issues with his foster feline friends. He is at his calmest when he is getting one on one attention and cuddles from a human.
Kirk has been working on basic house manners. He does tend to jump on people sometimes, but only when he’s really excited. Kirk does not particularly enjoy getting into his crate but once he is in, he does well. In general, Mr. Cameron doesn’t bark but sometimes will join in if other dogs start to. Recently neutered, one of Kirk’s main priorities has been working on potty training and foster mom reports that he is getting a lot better.
Kirk is very sweet and aims to please. He would do best in a home where he is either the only dog, or the only male dog. Ideally his forever family would also can provide both an outlet for his energy, as well as consistency with discipline to help bring out his calm side.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
