Hi, I'm Dorian's Buttercup! OPH helped evacuate me from a partner shelter in Hurricane Dorian's path and now I'm safe with OPH and looking for a home!
I'm a female pup, about 6 months old, 38 pounds and appear to be perhaps a Hound/Shepherd mix. My family says I am the PERFECT size since I sit right in the middle of my small and larger siblings.
My three favorite things so far since coming to my foster family have been belly rubs, squeaky toys and the abundance of other dogs to befriend. I am very good with getting to know other dogs and making sure we are on the same page and boy do I love to play if they let me! I have been around large dogs and small and just love them all. If I feel overwhelmed in any way I lay down and let them sniff me but I do not react as I know they are just getting to know me too!
I have been practicing walking on the leash and with the guidance of some of my foster siblings I am picking it up quickly!! I really enjoy walking and sniffing all around these new place. I would absolutely LOVE to find a forever family that loves walking as much as me. Did I mention I LOVE belly rubs too? My foster family says I am all about the "people loving" and the cuddles, which I why I think I get SO many kisses from them!!
I have been given so many gold stars for my potty training skills since coming in to my foster home! I much prefer to do my business outside, which to my surprise I have been given lots of yummy treats for, so I think I will keep that up!!
I do very well in my crate and understand it is my safe place for me to relax. I sleep well through the night and when my foster family is out of the house I stay in my crate just fine.
**The only BIG thing missing in my world right now, is a family to call my own. I really would LOVE to find a human family of any size who would let me make them as happy as they would make me!!**
See me in action here:
I'm spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots and monthly preventatives. If you are looking for a SWEET, affectionate, playful family member, I'm your gal!
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
