Hi, my name is Aven, however my foster mom calls me Avie. She says it suits my better because I am a petite beagle weighing in just under 20 pounds. I am guessed to be around 4 years old. I was extremely scared when I arrived on transport but so very happy to have been chosen to come to Northern Virginia to find my forever home.

I am timid; however I am gaining more confidence and trust every day. I was afraid of my larger big foster sister (resident dog), but can now lay on the couch with her and my foster mom. I am content on my crate and walking/exploring the house and back yard. I am potty trained in my foster home and have not had any accidents in the house or while in my crate.
I am a low energy girl who wants to please you. I love to go for walks and I walk nicely on a leash. I love to be petted and am especially fond of having my chest, neck and head rubbed. I will give you paw (but my foster mom does not believe I know the command). My foster mom is working with me on the look at me command and sit.
I am ready to have my own family who will let me blossom slowly and give me lots of love and patience. I am up-to-date on all my shots and spayed. Are you my forever family?
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
