Hi! My name is Kida and I’m a part of the cartoon themed transport that came to OPH on 5-29-20.
I’m guessed to be a terrier-retriever mix and estimated to be about 1yrs old and I currently weigh about 35 lbs. I'm an energetic, inquisitive, and playful girl with high energy levels, exercise needs, and playfulness. I love to play with my foster parents, go on long walks, and wander around/explore my surroundings thoroughly. Sometimes, I get too excited so I jump and playfully nip at hands and feet. I don't mean to do it intentionally, I'm just excited and I'm working on playing more gently. I love to put my head on laps for sweet pets in between plays and respond very well to gentle pets.
I'm housebroken and only go potty outside on walks. I also come when you call me like a very good girl (unless there is an interesting smell I'm investigating!). When I'm in the house, I like to sniff around and look out the window to see what's going on outside. I'm working on crate training and getting comfortable in my new environment! I'm friendly with other dogs and people. Because of my physical needs, I would be happiest in a home with a back yard, lots of toys, and an adopter with experience and ability to take me on lots of walks and runs. I also would be best in a home where I would be able to get lots of attention.
I tested positive for heartworm but I'm scheduled to get treatment from the vet and my foster parents will be taking me soon. OPH will treat me and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
