Hello!
This sweet and very big boy loves, loves, loves, did I say LOVES to give hugs!!! Well, he does and he's really good at it. He definitely towers over me and my 10 year old. But he is so gentle and sweet with his hugs. He is great with kids, dogs and even puppies. So far he has won our family over. He is extremely playful and we don't think he is aware of his size most of the time which makes playtime exciting and FUN! He is so goofy and loves to put on a show. This big boy is a little hyper and a big ball of energy, that's for sure. He loves treats especially squid sticks and lets not forget all doggy toys. Especially toys that he can toss around like a rag doll. He does listens to a few commands like stop/relax, come, sit and lets go! After play time he will pick a spot near you and nap away.

He enjoys long walks and does try to chase rabbits, toads, and yes even bugs and birds but does very well on the leash.

We are currently working on crate and house training. Although he is not a fan of being crated he is slowly learning that it's okay to have some down time. He still needs some work but I'm sure he will eventually learn that being crated is not the end of his world. Once he is out to roam around he will follow you around wherever you go like your little sidekick. In my opinion, I think it's mostly due to separation anxiety, we are definitely working on it and trying to teach him that everything is going to be okay! It's going to take some time for him to learn to deal with his favorite human to leave his side and return from running errands or going to work for the day.

His first night with us, he barked all night without skipping a beat! I felt so bad for the little fella. Day two and three he was still barking but eventually he would stop for a few minutes in between without barking. Today is day four and I'm happy to say that he went in the crate, of course I had to throw a treat in there, and barked for less than 5 min. While I update his profile for you to get to know him, I'm happy to say that he is nice and quiet. This to me is a small victory but in a big way.

I'm sure it's not going to be easy for him when the time comes to go home with his new family. All I can ask is for you to please love him, care for him and most importantly be patient. It will take a few days for him to adjust to being in a new place, but once he settles in he is so worth it I promise! Great Falls will make a great addition to the family!

Hi! My name is Great Falls and I’m part of the Waterfalls transport coming to OPH 6-26-20.

I’m guessed to be a Great Dane mix and estimated to be about 2 yrs old. I’m a sweet boy and I currently weigh about 73lbs.

I’m making my way north in search of my new family. Is that with you! If so apply today! I won’t be available long!

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
