Hi! My name is Blackberry Falls and I'm part of the transport coming to OPH 7-10-20! I'm guessed to be some type of shepherd mix and I am about a year old. I'm a sweet girl and I currently weigh around 38lbs. I'm making my way north in search of my new family.
I'm a sweet sweet dog who loves affection and attention! I have a little wiggle butt and a happy disposition and my foster parents tell me how cute I am every day. My favorite things in the world are behind the ear scratches and big belly rubs. I also love my toys and anything I can gnaw on (rawhide treats, nylabones, kongs etc). I am a puppy so if I am feeling bored I may chew on things I am not supposed to (I have attempted to chew some wooden furniture, cords, and album covers in my fosters home). When I am being playful I can sometimes try to play/mouth with your hand or arm gently. However I can be redirected by a toy. I am naughtiest when I have not had enough attention or exercise. :)
I like going for walks and running around in my fenced in yard. I'm an active girl so I need a good deal of exercise daily so a home with a fenced in yard would be ideal. I'm good on a leash and will follow my humans lead. If I haven't gotten enough exercise during the day I may have late night zoomies - but take me on some long walks and I can be a lazy napper for a long time! I don't mind being in a crate all night or during the day and have had no accidents in my fosters home.
I am still a little nervous around other dogs but I am warming up! I had a hard start to life (my siblings and I were dumped in a canal down South) so I can be wary of other dogs on the street, and if I feel cornered or the other dog gets too close I will bare my teeth. My foster parents have seen a lot of progress with me in a short time with interactions with other dogs. I will bark at cats if I see them. I have made a few furry friends in my fosters building and I like to run around and play with them - it just takes the right introduction and I have to feel safe!
I am looking for a loving home with humans that will give me all the attention and treats! Is that with you? If so apply today! I won't be available for long!
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
