#9682 Alya

Adoption Pending
Medium-size, Female, Adult Labrador Retriever,
Alya is up-to-date on her shots and has been spayed. She is not suitable in an apartment, condo or other urban setting. Alya is currently being fostered in Washington, DC.

My name is Alya and I’m part of the Constellations transport coming to OPH 7/24/20.

I’m guessed to be a lab mix and estimated to be about 3 years old. I currently weigh about 55 lbs and I'm affectionate, meaning I think "lap dog" is subjective and I will try to sit as close to you as possible. My foster parents say I'm a very smart and obedient girl who is easy to train - not to brag, but I know sit, shake, crate and I figured out that I can wait in my crate when my foster parents start getting my food ready because that's where my meals are. I know that outside is where I go to the bathroom. and haven't had an accident with my fosters.

I'm working on walking nicely on a leash, and I prefer the calmer suburbs to the loud city. I'm crate trained and I like to sleep quietly there at night and nap there during the day in my fosters' home. I'm still getting the hang of "playing" and "toys" but I like to carry my ball around the house with me. More than anything, I love hanging out with my people and I do a happy dance when I come out of my crate or one of them comes into the room to show them how much I love them. My ideal Saturday afternoon is spending the afternoon on the couch with my foster parents watching a movie.

I’m making my way north in search of my new family. Is that with you! If so apply today! I won’t be available long!

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
