Meet Sarah – A Sweet and Gentle Soul
Sarah is a tender-hearted mixed-breed pup searching for a loving home where she can thrive. At 10 months old, she’s already showing signs of being a calm and affectionate companion, eager to bond with her forever family.
Sarah’s Personality and Traits
Gentle and Calm
For such a young pup, Sarah is remarkably calm and composed. She isn’t mouthy and is easy to manage, making her a great fit for families looking for a laid-back and sweet dog.
Playful and Friendly
Sarah enjoys playtime, especially with her foster sibling, OPH Sofia. Watching her play reveals her joyful and social side, showing how much she values companionship.
Timid but Resilient
While Sarah can be a little timid in new environments, she adjusts well with patience and love. Despite her initial fears of city noises and leashes, her courage shines as she learns and grows every day.
Housetrained
Sarah appears mostly housetrained, with only occasional accidents—likely due to the adjustment period and unfavorable weather. She’s learning quickly and aims to please.
Loves Her "Room"
Sarah finds comfort in her crate and will often retreat there for rest. Her crate training makes her a champ at quiet time and bath time, too.
Not a Fan of City Life
Sarah’s experience has shown that she struggles with the noise and hustle of city living. She would thrive in a quieter suburban or rural home with a yard where she can feel safe and secure.
Why Sarah Will Steal Your Heart
Sarah’s sweet nature and calm demeanor make her a perfect companion for someone who values a loving, low-maintenance pup. Her gentle spirit and resilience show she’s ready to blossom in the right environment.
Sarah’s Ideal Home
Sarah would thrive in a home with:
- A fenced yard for safe outdoor play and potty breaks
- A quiet suburban or rural setting to reduce her stress from city noises
- A patient and loving family who can help her build confidence
- Another friendly dog to play with and learn from

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
