PERSONALITY
Jamison is a loving, social, sweet and friendly guy who thrives in the company of people and other dogs.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
Jamison is part of a litter found in a remote wooded area of Mississippi, left to fend for themselves. Thankfully, a kind adventurer on a 4x4 rescued them and brought them to safety.
Jamison is very endearing in the way he approaches people and new experiences with caution.
Jamison is too young to be neutered, and his future family will need to arrange for this at the appropriate time.
Because this pup is so young, he recently out of quarantine and since he has only had two of his required three distemper shots, he cannot go outside of the foster’s fenced yard so he has not yet begun leash training.
This little guy is too young to hold his bladder for more than four hours so he can’t yet begin crate training. He is, however, doing a good job going potty outside in the yard and using the pee pads when he’s inside
COMPANIONSHIP
Jamison brings joy to every interaction. He is playful and full of puppy energy. He loves playing and napping in equal measure, loves humans and craves their company, whether hanging around his people indoors, or exploring the outdoors.
This friendly little guy enjoys following his humans around in the yard when they're exploring outdoors.
TRAINING AND LEARNING
Every day he learns new things about the world and about how to have good puppy manners.
Jamison is doing a good job with his potty training, using the pee pads in his kennel overnight and keeping his kennel clean during the day with regular potty breaks. He also does a good job sitting for attention but he still needs to be encouraged to keep sitting or he will soon pop up, unable to contain his exuberance.
TRAITS AND IDEAL HOME
Jamison would flourish in a home that offers plenty of love, patience, and consistent training to help him grow into a well-rounded adult dog. He would be a perfect match for someone who shares his social and gentle personality. He would also love a safe and loving environment where he can continue to build confidence.
LOVE AND AFFECTION
Jamison loves to be held, give kisses and sit in any available warm lap. In his kennel, he entertains himself while also entertaining anyone watching, as he engages in adorable play with tug toys, stuffed toys and Nylabones.
Jamison, the smallest in this litter, is already becoming less shy than when he first joined his foster family. He now warms up and will greet you with a big wiggly butt.
Jamison’s journey from the woods of Mississippi to his foster home is a story of hope and love. If you’re searching for a sweet, gentle, and loving companion, Jamison might be the perfect fit. Apply today to meet this precious pup and make him part of your family!
PLEASE NOTE
Because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.

This pup is too young to be neutered, and his future family will need to arrange for this at the appropriate time.
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
