Ruby is an affectionate pup who is ready to become your loyal companion. She is gentle and loving. Her beautiful eyes will connect with your soul. With her stunning red coat and regal stance, she is a true gem waiting to find her forever home.
Ruby’s Personality and Traits
Playful and Curious
Ruby loves to run in the yard or roll around the floor with a toy. She is curious about everything going on around her and is ready to lend a helping hand. She also enjoys her naps, her favorite place to dream is in your lap. She doesn’t realize she’s 40+ lbs, neither will you when that sweet little head is resting peacefully against your heart.
Sweet and Social
Ruby’s sweet personality shines when she meets new people and dogs. She gets along beautifully with everyone she encounters, making her a great addition to any family or pack.
Crate-Trained
Ruby is well-behaved in her crate although it sometimes takes her a few minutes to settle in. A treat, a chew toy, and some reassurance is all she needs to keep her happy.
Beautiful Coat
Her gorgeous red coat is eye-catching and adds to her natural charm. She truly is a beauty, inside and out. She runs like a young doe and prances like a show pony.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
