SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Shock gets along well with her foster siblings, which includes three large dogs and one small dog. She is curious about her foster family chickens but hasn’t has been around cats yet. She is a very quiet girl and really doesn’t bark much at all.

COMPANIONSHIP
Shock loves every human she meets and always wants to be around them. While her humans do their thing, Shock is happy to stay nearby in her own bed, sleeping, playing with a toy or chewing on a bone. Sometimes she will follow her foster mom like a shadow. Outside, she is happy to explore the yard on her own, or with her human in sight, or with another dog.

TRAINING AND LEARNING
Shock is pretty much housebroken with accidents few and far between. She is doing well learning commands and already knows “sit.” She obeys when told “no,” and, if you coax her into her crate with a tasty treat, she sleeps quietly in there all night. She takes treats and eats politely and walks on a leash just fine. She also rides well in a car.

TRAITS AND IDEAL HOME
Shock would be happy in a home with or without dogs since she prefers the company of humans. She would love a family that is able to spend a lot of time at home with her. Shock’s foster mom is sure that this girl will be the most faithful and loving companion to her human and will want to go everywhere her human goes.

LOVE AND AFFECTION
Shock is all about getting love and attention. Go ahead and lavish her with hugs, scratches, pets, and kisses! She isn’t much of a kisser herself but she will paw your hands for more if you stop petting her. She’ll take a short nap snuggled in your arms but prefers to sleep on a bed, the floor, or anywhere where she can keep an eye on her family.

If you’re searching for a sweet, gentle companion, come meet Shock and see if she’s the perfect pup for your family.

Shock (Oconee Litter) Shock (Oconee Litter) is currently being fostered in Mechanicsville, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
