Hello! My name is Pheby! I'm a stunning Lab mix with a sleek, black coat and long, lanky limbs that make my graceful, languid movements a joy to watch. I arrived on 2/14 and I'm quickly settling in, eager to share all my love and loyalty with my forever family.

Loving and People-Oriented
I absolutely love people and thrive on human attention. I am always ready to greet you with warmth and enthusiasm, and I promise to be a loyal, loving companion. I do exceptionally well with my foster family, including their 8-year-old son, and I'm especially gentle and affectionate around kids.

Socialization with Other Animals
I get along nicely with our dogs, though I may need a slow introduction with other females. I also do great with our cats—I’m not even curious about them. My ideal home might include another dog who can help me learn how to be the perfect home pet.
Play and Training
I'm currently learning how to play with dog toys and even fetch a ball. While I'm still figuring out how to interact playfully with other dogs, I'm eager to learn and respond well to basic commands. I do best when I'm given plenty of gentle guidance and encouragement.
House Routine and Crate Behavior
I haven't had any accidents so far and do very well in my crate at night. However, I prefer not to be crated during the day. I also need to be fed separately to ensure I get the proper nutrition and to help me build healthy habits.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
