About: Bonnie
Hello! My name is Bonnie! I'm a mixed breed pup with a sweet personality, ready to give you all my love and loyalty. At 38 lbs., I'm the perfect size, don't you think? I just arrived on 2/14 so I'm still getting settled in, but here are some few things my foster family has learned about me so far.

- I am a very happy girl who loves being with people. I smile and wag my tail to charm everyone into saying hello and petting me as I lean in to let them know how much I appreciate their attention.
- I like hanging out with my foster family. When foster mom is working, I lay nearby on the floor or in my doggie to quietly watch her and rest. If she's on the sofa, I like to snuggle or spread across her lap to get some extra loving. When someone's in the kitchen eating or cooking, I like to keep them company and help them clean up anything that falls on the floor.
- I am excited to have toys, but I'm not 100% sure how to play with them after I pounce on them. My furry foster sibling is teaching me.
- I like going outside to explore when my foster family is in the yard.
- I have been going potty outside and haven't had any accidents in the house.
- I sleep quietly in my crate all night and wait for foster mom to tell me its my turn to go outside in the morning.
- Foster mom thinks I am too thin so she is currently feeding my multiple small meals to start putting on some weight. Needless to say I am very treat motivated, so I am already working on "sit" and "lie down" (though I definitely need practice, which is great, because I really enjoy spending time with my foster family members learning new things)

This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.

Bonnie Bonnie is currently being fostered in Baltimore, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
