MEET MARGO - A Sweet and Playful Little Girl with an Exuberant Energy and Expressive Eyes That Will Melt Your Heart!
Name: Margo of the Despicable Me Litter
Gender: Female
Breed: Mixed
Age: 9 weeks old (Est. DOB 1/6/25)
Current Weight: 9.5 lbs
Estimate Adult Weight: 55 lbs.
Current Location: Street, MD
PERSONALITY
Margo is very social, outgoing and curious, making her a spunky and sassy companion. This girl shows her athletics by climbing and jumping to new heights, especially when food is involved. Margo’s adventurous personality means that she is always asking to play and she really loves crinkly toys.
COMPANIONSHIP
Margo loves play time and naptime and exploring and romping with her sibling family and she will love you too if you bring her home to be your loving companion. Margo’s foster mom says she is a talkative girl: “Not like barking but kinda like a beagle or a husky. I actually got her to sing with me.”
TRAINING AND LEARNING
Every day Margo learns new things about the world and about how to have good puppy manners. When she is old enough, she will be eager to work with a patient family who can help her learn important skills like potty training, crate training and leash training. Since she is still young and in puppy quarantine, she is beginning potty training by learning to use a litter box with pine pellets. Margo thinks treats are really great and that should help her focus during training. Her new family could teach her some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help her bond with her new family.
LOVE AND AFFECTION
Margo is very intelligent and good natured, as well as friendly and affectionate. She loves to give kisses in return for affection from her humans.
IDEAL HOME
Margo will thrive in a patient family who can help her grow to become her best self. She is also looking for someone who won't leave her home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until she is older. The older she is, the more she can stay home alone. She just doesn't want her people to get mad at her if she has accidents or chews things she’s not supposed to when she is left alone for too long. She’s a puppy, so she gets bored quickly and when she’s bored, she could get in trouble.
Margo would be happy in a home with or without another dog. Her foster mom says Margo is more active than her sisters and Margo would do best with an active family with a yard for Margo to explore, or with a family who can walk her often.
If you’re looking for an adorable mixed-breed puppy expected to grow into a loving and large companion with an equally large heart full of love, meet Margo today.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
Because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.
Included Veterinary Care:
Visit to Veterinarian: Health certificate included
Vaccinations: Up to date for her age
This puppy is not yet old enough to be Spayed/Neutered. Her adoptive family will have to make arrangements for this when the puppy is old enough.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
