Meet Suzie – A Tiny Pup with a Big Heart!
Name: Suzie
Gender: Female
Breed: Pomeranian Mix
Age: 7 Years Old
Weight: 7 lbs
Current Location: King William, VA
About Suzie
Suzie is a delicate little lady with a heart full of love, just waiting for the right person to help her come out of her shell. At just 7 lbs, she’s the perfect pocket-sized companion!
Suzie recently arrived and is still getting used to her new surroundings. Right now, she’s quiet and a bit nervous, preferring to observe rather than jump right into the action. She’s comfortable around other dogs but hasn’t shown much interest in interacting just yet. She’s a gentle soul who will need patience, love, and time to build trust and confidence.
Personality & Behavior
✔ Timid but sweet – Needs a little time to warm up
✔ Prefers a calm environment – Loud noises and sudden movements make her a bit nervous
✔ Not yet comfortable with leashes – Working on feeling safe with handling
✔ Good with other dogs – Enjoys their presence but doesn’t seek out playtime yet
Ideal Home
Suzie will thrive in a quiet, patient home where she can build confidence at her own pace. A gentle adopter who understands shy dogs and can help her feel secure will be perfect for her. Another calm dog in the home might help her adjust, but she’d also be happy as the center of your attention.
Included Veterinary Care
Suzie comes fully vetted and ready for her new home, including:
✔ Health certificate from a veterinarian
✔ Up-to-date vaccinations appropriate for her age
✔ Spayed
✔ Microchipped
✔ Heartworm preventative
✔ Flea & tick preventative
✔ Worm/parasite treatments

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
