MEET DUSTY - A Sweet Happy Girl Looking for People to Love!

PERSONALITY
Dusty is a bundle of joy who is up for anything and has typical young dog energy, curiosity and enthusiasm. She loves being out and about, whether it is going for a ride in the car or walking around the neighborhood where she can watch everything going on around her as she bounces along. She is an active girl who loves exploring outside and playing fetch. Click here, here, and here to see her having a great time playing outside. After some quality playtime or happy zoomies around the yard, she is ready to spread out on the sofa for a well-deserved nap.

Dusty thinks toys are the absolute best and she likes them all (though chew toys seem to be a favorite). She also enjoys searching for treats in a snuffle mat. Click here . Dusty is a smart girl who picks up on routines quickly. She is praise and treat motivated, and has already learned "sit" and "come".

COMPANIONSHIP
Dusty is just right for cuddling on the couch or joining you on adventures. Dusty loves being with people and will greet you with happy tail wags and wiggles.

TRAINING AND LEARNING
Dusty seems to be potty trained. She is doing very well with her leash training and hardly pulls on the leash at all. Pop a leash on her and she is eager to join you on a walk. She is not a fan of being in a crate. She’ll bark for a while before settling down, and does better with bones and other chewies or toys to help keep her occupied. She much prefers sleeping in her dog bed or on the sofa at night.

LOVE AND AFFECTION
Dusty is a total love bug. She gives kisses freely, snuggles like a pro, and just wants to be near her humans. She’ll never turn down a good scratch on her neck or below her chin. She also has a belly for rubbing and will roll over to show you just the right spot.

IDEAL HOME
Dusty is great with other dogs her size and she loves to play, but she can be a bit too rough for small dogs, so she would do best in a home that does not have small dogs. Dusty is doing great learning the rules of living in a home, though she is still working on puppy mouthiness when she gets excited and resisting the urge to counter surf when she sees you doing something interesting or smells something yummy.

Could you be Dusty’s forever person? She promises to fill your life with love and laughter.

Dusty Dusty is currently being fostered in Baltimore, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
