About: Dusty
Hi, I’m Dusty – and I’m ready to blow into your life like a happy little tornado of love, fluff, and zoomies!
I’m a mixed breed (but you can just consider me 100% certified good girl) and I weigh around 41 pounds. I might be the perfect size, if I do say so myself – not too big, not too small, just right for cuddling on the couch or joining you on adventures!
Let’s talk about my special talent: I can shred a stuffed toy in 10 seconds flat. Yep, it’s a gift. Some call it destruction, I call it performance art. If you’ve got a toy you’re emotionally attached to, maybe keep it out of my reach!
I’m also the best sniffer around. My nose is always on the job, and I absolutely love a challenge. Snuffle mats, treat puzzles, or hide-and-seek games? Count me in! I’m a smart cookie who enjoys working for my snacks and solving problems. See my skills in action here
I’m a total love bug – I give kisses freely, snuggle like a pro, and just want to be near my humans. I get the zoomies and will make you laugh with my goofy, happy energy. Life is meant to be lived with enthusiasm, and I bring it every day!
I’m great with other dogs my size and love to play, but I can be a bit too rough for small dogs. As for cats… I’m not quite sure yet. I might be okay with a confident kitty, but that’s still being figured out.
Heads up: I can be a little mouthy when I get excited. It’s not aggressive, just part of my silly play style – but because of that, I might not be the best fit for homes with small children.
One thing you should know: I shed like CRAZY. If you're not a fan of dog hair tumbleweeds or wearing my fur like an accessory, we might not be a match. But if you’re cool with a little extra fluff in your life, we’ll get along just fine.
My foster mom says she’ll keep updating this as she gets to know me better, but so far she says I’m an absolute sweetheart with a hilarious personality.
Could you be my forever person? I promise to fill your life with love, laughter, and lots (and lots) of fur.
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
