About Maggie
Maggie is a sweet and quiet girl who loves being close to her people. She is very affectionate and enjoys attention from her foster family, including their 21-year-old daughter. She has been incredibly gentle and loving with her humans and is one of the quietest dogs her foster has ever met—she doesn’t bark at all!

Maggie is still settling into home life and would benefit from boundaries, and supervision as she adjusts - as would most new family members. She has shown her uncertainty with a small blind dog in her foster home, and would be do well with certainty and a calm environment. While she has been fine overall with the resident dog, she may need some monitoring and slow introductions with small dogs. She also gets excited when taking treats and shows her exuberance. Although we have not seen her around small chilldren, we would want to ensure she has long slow introductions and lots of supervision with others to set her up for comfort and success.

Maggie is still learning about stairs, which could be due to unfamiliarity. With a patient adopter who can provide guidance and structure, she will continue to gain confidence and blossom into a wonderful companion.

Included Veterinary Care

Ideal Home
Maggie would thrive in a home where her adopters can continue building her confidence and help her navigate new experiences. She will do best with a structured routine and a patient approach. Small dogs and young children should be introduced carefully and with supervision while she learns to share attention and space.

Maggie is ready to find a loving home where she can settle in and be the wonderful companion she is meant to be. Could that be with you? Apply today to meet her!

Maggie Maggie is currently being fostered in Alexandria, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
