About: Ross
Ever met a pup so stylish he looks like he fell out of a fashion spread—but still acts like he just rolled out of bed? That’s Ross. With his trendy burnt sienna-and-white markings, bold mask, and big “oh stop, who me?” energy, he’s the kind of dog that turns heads while pretending not to notice. But trust us—he knows on some level. How could he not?
Ross is a confident, curious little guy full of ideas and aspirations. Some pups just chew toys—Ross is out here planning camping trips, backpacking routes, and possibly a guest appearance on a nature documentary (or, more likely, just watching one from the couch). He’s social, outgoing, and already casually building friendships with people and dogs alike.
He’s equally good at romping with his foster siblings and settling down for a nap in a sunbeam. Don’t let his adventurous spirit fool you—he’s also sweet, snuggly, and totally into his humans. Whether it’s outdoor exploring, learning new tricks, or flopping over for a belly rub, Ross brings joy to every moment.
Training Highlights:
- Crate Training: Quiet from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., crate is dry in the morning.
- Potty Training: Doing great, still learning. Needs consistency and patience.
- Leash Walking: Surprisingly good for a pup—he’s picking it up fast.
- Very respectful and does not jump on people when he meets them
- Commands: Knows “sit” and “no” already, and he’s treat-motivated.
- Energy Level: Puppy-level (read: plenty). But balances playtime with some solid naps.
Ideal Home:
Ross is looking for a family that has time and patience to help him grow into the best version of himself. He wants to do right by you, but he’s still learning what’s a chew toy and what’s, well… still undisclosed.
Veterinary Care:
- Visit to veterinarian for health certificate
- Up to date on vaccinations for his age
- Neutered
- Microchipped
- On heartworm preventative
- On flea and tick preventative
- Treated for worms and parasites
If you’re ready to raise a sweet, slightly famous-looking pup with dreams bigger than his paws—Ross is ready to meet you.
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
