MEET KEVIN – SMALL IN SIZE, BIG ON HEART
Kevin is a charming young pup who is slowly but surely blossoming into a loving, playful, and loyal companion. At just 15 lbs., he’s the perfect size for a lap and has quickly learned that belly rubs are one of life’s greatest joys. While Kevin is still settling into his new environment, every day he becomes more confident, affectionate, and connected to the people around him.

PERSONALITY
Kevin may start out shy—especially around new people or unfamiliar situations—but with time and trust, his sweet and gentle nature shines through.
- Learning to trust and bond with people
- Shows affection once comfortable and enjoys snuggling
- Loves belly rubs and cuddle time
- Playful in bursts, then settles down on a warm lap
- Enjoys toys and tug-of-war with his foster dog buddy
- Kevin relies on the companionship of trusted people or a friendly dog to feel secure and is steadily gaining confidence each day.

TRAINING & BEHAVIOR
Kevin is a smart little guy who is picking up on routines and household life quickly.
- House trained for the most part
- Crate trained and sees his crate as a safe retreat
- Good watch dog—alerts when someone comes to the door
- Learning leash walking – currently a bit zig-zaggy, but improving
- Can go upstairs independently; still gaining courage to go down, but doesn’t mind being carried
- A little anxious when separated from trusted companions but learning to feel more secure

GOOD WITH...
- Dogs: Yes, particularly smaller or calmer dogs – he adores his foster brother and plays nicely

- Cats: No – Kevin is not a fan of feline friends
- Kids: Best with calm or older children who understand shy dogs
- Men: Initially nervous, but can warm up with patience and positive experiences

IDEAL HOME
Kevin would do best in a calm, patient home where he can continue to build his confidence. A home with another small, friendly dog would be ideal, as he draws comfort from canine companionship. His forever family should be ready to offer gentle guidance, consistency, and lots of love.
- A quieter home with patient adults and possibly older children
- A companion dog to help him feel secure
- A family ready to help him continue blossoming at his own pace
- A fenced yard is helpful, but not required
- A loving lap and a soft spot on the couch are a must!

INCLUDED VETERINARY CARE
- Vaccinations: Up to date
- Neutered
- Microchipped
- Heartworm Preventative
- Flea and Tick Preventative
- Worm/Parasite Treatments

Kevin may start out reserved, but once he feels safe, he is as endearing as they come. This sweet boy is learning how good life can be, and he’s ready to share it with a forever family who will give him the love, patience, and companionship he deserves. Could that be you?

Kevin Kevin is currently being fostered in South Riding, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
