Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) and Kannan Animal Welfare (KAW), an animal rescue organization in New Delhi, India, are working together to help dogs living on the streets in India. Many street dogs in India are hit by cars, develop serious medical conditions, and suffer from malnutrition and skin diseases. KAW rescues these injured, sick dogs and provides medical treatment to them. Many of these dogs are then transported to OPH to find loving forever homes in the U.S. We are raising funds to provide desperatly needed medical care to these dogs, and to transport them to the U.S. for adoption.
Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) and Kannan Animal Welfare (KAW), an animal rescue organization in New Delhi, India, are working together to transform the lives of street dogs who are rescued from unfortunate situations and find themselves in need of forever families.
The KAW team works tirelessly to rescue sick and injured dogs living on the streets. Their days are filled with urgent requests and pleas for help. The team rushes into action to save dogs who have been hit by vehicles, suffer from illness that will overcome them on the street, or - sadly - hurt by hands of humans.
There are approximately 30 million free-ranging dogs living in India. In New Delhi, where KAW is located, there are nearly 500,000 dogs living on the street.
These dogs are frequently injured by vehicles, suffer from disease and malnutrition, and survive by eating garbage. Two-thirds of puppies born to street dogs die before three months of age, and eight out of ten die before reaching one year of age.
OPH is raising funds to cover the medical costs for dogs at KAW. This includes surgery for broken bones and hernias, treatment for mange and cancer, and spaying/neutering costs. OPH is also raising funds to bring dogs from KAW to our rescue. These funds covers the cost of the airline charge, export permit, crate, microchip, and health certificate for each dog. Once KAW dogs arrive in the U.S, OPH finds forever homes for them.
Please help these dogs receive the medical care and transport to the loving homes they desperately need.
Thank you for giving what you can. We are grateful for your support!Donate
