Desna is back in foster care at OPH, awaiting surgery. This surgery aims to repair her left hip so she can live pain-free and have another chance at life in loving forever home. Please give what you can and show Desna there's hope. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for medical procedures and after-care.
*Update! Because of a generous grant from Bissell and that we have completed 138 spays and neuters towards our goal for 2019, we have adjusted the amount needed to reach our target! It only takes about $2000 for us to have 25 pets altered in underserved communities. We call that a spay day. These spay days can have huge impact on the surrounding community and massively reduce shelter intake. The result is lower euthanasia rates. For each $2000 we raise, we will schedule a spay day and post about it here. One spay day can prevent the births of more than 250,000 animals.
Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) and Kannan Animal Welfare (KAW), an animal rescue organization in New Delhi, India, are working together to help dogs living on the streets in India. Many street dogs in India are hit by cars, develop serious medical conditions, and suffer from malnutrition and skin diseases. KAW rescues these injured, sick dogs and provides medical treatment to them. Many of these dogs are then transported to OPH to find loving forever homes in the U.S. We are raising funds to provide desperatly needed medical care to these dogs, and to transport them to the U.S. for adoption.
