#13605 Tippy

Adoptable
Medium-size, Male, Adult Labrador Retriever x Chow Chow,
Energy Level 3

Energy Level 3 - Enjoys walks, mental stimulation, and some playtime.

This sweet sweet boy Tippy is a 4 year old, 35lb, guessed to be Iab mix. He lost a leg 2 years ago due to a gunshot wound, and just wants a place to call home.
Tippy is fully potty trained and, even though he has three legs, he can run, jump, play, climb stairs, and do everything a 4 legged dog can do.
He is great when walking on a leash except he does tend to forget his manners when he spots a bunny that needs to be chased! Tippy loves to play, walk and visit the dog park. He loves going on daily two-miles walks with his foster and will most likely require similar walks in the future or a daily romping outside to get his energy out. Yet he's a couch potato while you're working and hanging out at home.
He is great with other dogs and people. He doesn't mind spending some time in his crate, and he even puts his toys away in his crate....he just doesn't like the door closed. He does not currently sleep in his crate. He much prefers to sleep near his humans.
He absolutely loves the car (will hop right in) and has just learned how to play with toys. He has also learned the fun of chasing a ball.
Tippy would be a perfect companion to a someone who works from home, or is retired. He is pretty much a velcro pup who sticks with his favorite human.
Although Tippy is perfectly fine outside of his home in public areas, he would do best living with no other dogs. Although progress is being made each day, he has a habit of guarding his food and bones closely. Tippy has a lot to say and will bark at people who walk by his home. This precious boy is very sweet loving, and needs a place to call home.

Tippy Tippy is currently being fostered in Brunswick, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
