#13605 Tippy

Adoptable
Medium-size, Male, Adult Labrador Retriever x Chow Chow,
Energy Level 3

Energy Level 3 - Enjoys walks, mental stimulation, and some playtime.

This sweet boy is Tippy - a 4 year old, 35lb, guessed to be Iab mix!

Tippy had a rough start to life after being shot in the leg almost 2 years ago. Unfortunately, the leg could not be saved and had to be amputated. He is a great dog with a sad past, but he doesn’t let that define him! Some people have said he is the happiest dog they have ever met! He’d love to find a soft place to land and will become your best friend! He just needs someone to give him a chance!

Even though he has three legs - he can run, jump, play, climb stairs, and do everything a 4 legged dog can do. He is fully potty trained. He does great walking on a leash (except when he spots a bunny that needs to be chased)! He loves going on daily walks and will likely require similar activity in his adoptive home to get his energy out. When he’s not being Mr. Active, he's a total couch potato. He’s also the perfect co-worker while you're working! He’d prefer someone who works from home or is retired. He is pretty much a follower who sticks with his favorite human.

He plays great with other dogs, but would be best as the only dog in the home. He doesn't mind spending some time in his crate, and he even puts his toys away in his crate, but prefers the crate door to stay open. He would prefer to sleep near his humans vs the crate at night.

He absolutely loves the car (will hop right in), what adventure will you go on together?

Tippy will be an extremely loyal companion to someone, he just needs a chance! Apply to add this cheerful, loving tripod to your life today!

Tippy Tippy is currently being fostered in York, PA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
