Meet Stella: The Sweet and Spirited Schnauzer Mix

Name: Stella

Age: Approximately 1 year old

Breed: Schnauzer Mix

Weight: 30 pounds

Health: Heartworm Positive (Will receive treatment prior to going home)

Introduction:
Say hello to Stella, the delightful and energetic Schnauzer mix who is ready to find her forever family! At just 1 year old, Stella is full of enthusiasm and love, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to become a cherished member of your household.

Personality:
Stella is a young and vibrant dog with a zest for life. She loves nothing more than running around and playing with her favorite toys, particularly Nylabones. Stella has a puppy mentality and is eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. Her foster mom believes she may even excel at agility work!

Behavior and Training:
Despite her young age, Stella is already potty trained and hasn't had any accidents in the house. She's quick to go potty, making bathroom breaks a breeze. While she's not a fan of her crate, Stella is learning that it's her safe space. She much prefers being with her human family, whom she adores.

Stella is super friendly and loves to play with other dogs, although she may get a bit too excited when meeting new ones. She's also working on leash training and can be vocal when she sees strangers walking by her home. However, her affectionate nature shines through, as she enjoys giving kisses, hugs, and belly rubs to those she loves.

Ideal Home:
Stella is searching for a forever home with someone who:

Can provide her with plenty of love, attention, and exercise.
Is committed to continuing her training and helping her reach her full potential.
Understands her playful nature and can provide her with ample opportunities for enrichment and socialization.
Is ready to open their heart and home to a sweet and spirited companion who will bring joy and laughter into their lives.

Stella Stella is currently being fostered in Ijamsville, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
