Hello! My name is Blossom and I arrived to OPH on 10/11/24. Hoping to find my forever family who I know is waiting for me as I am them. If that’s you please hit that adopt button soon. This cuteness won’t be around long.

At 10 pounds, I am already larger than a chihuahua, so mom thinks I am a terrier mix of some kind. I should be around 30 pounds as an adult.

My foster mom says I am a cuddle bug, and cannot stress the amount of cuddliness. I love playing with my big dog siblings here. I like checking out the cat. I sleep in my crate at night. I am crated during the day when mom is at work.

I am working hard on house training. I give signs and mom takes me out when she sees them. I have had accidents but I am learning.

I'm searching for…

-Someone who enjoys morning coffee snuggles. I will keep you warm this winter. I will also give the cutest kisses.

- Someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until I am older. The older I am, the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quickly and when I'm bored I could get in trouble.

- I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun!

- I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! My foster mom, again, says I am the most chill cuddly puppy she has had the pleasure of fostering.

Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.

This puppy is microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Blossom Blossom is currently being fostered in Glen Burnie, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
