Hi! My name is Sophie and I’m part of the transport that arrived to OPH on 10/11/24.

I’m a mixed breed dog, a 2 year old gal and weigh about 68 lbs. I am hearing impaired but can't wait to get to my forever home! My foster parents say I am the smartest dog and I aim to please. I love learning new sign language commands, so far I can focus, come back and understand no. I currently live in a house with two other pups and enjoy playing with my foster sisters. I could do well as an only pup but would love some playdates in the fenced in dog park. Did I tell you that I also love children, I am very gentle around them and just happy when they give me hugs; I really just love to be with humans, want affection and just to be a part of the family.

Is that with you? Apply to adopt me today! This cuteness won’t be available for long!

Sophie (Special Needs Deaf) She has special needs. Sophie (Special Needs Deaf) is currently being fostered in Frederick, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
