#14193 Waverly

Adoptable
Small-size, Female, Senior Shih Tzu x Mixed Breed,

Hi! My name is Waverly and I’m a Shih Tzu mixed breed dog, a 7 year young gal weighing a healthy 15 lbs. I'm retired from my past life as a breeder mama and ready to learn how to be a dog and get to know human love.

Things to know about me:
> I've got one blue and one brown eye (heterochromia) which is common in Shih Tzu dogs
> I am more of a lounger than an adventurer. Give me a comfy bed, couch, or lap and I am there most of the day.
> But when my human gets home or returns from an extended period of time, I get very excited and love doing zooms
> I am crate trained (It's my safe space) and sleep like a rock during the night
> I like wet dog food, period. Not really into treats, snacks, or bully sticks. But when that wet dog food comes out, I'm all over it
> I working on potty training. I'm used to just going anywhere I wanted so waiting to go till I'm outside is a foreign concept to me. But I'm doing well. Sidewalks and driveways are good targets of opportunity. I'm a little skeptical of grass though. Maybe it's because grass tickles my bum?
> I don't pull on the leash as I like to be by my foster mom's side when outside.

I can't wait to get to my forever home! Is that with you? Apply to adopt me today! This cuteness won’t be available for long!

Waverly Waverly is currently being fostered in Annandale, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
