About Taz
Hi! My name is Taz. I’m a 10-year-old Jack Russell mix who’s learning to open up to the world around me. Life didn’t start off easy for me, but I’m looking forward to a safe, happy future in a loving home.
Personality
I’m a bit nervous around new people and situations, but I find comfort in being with my brother, Tom. I like to follow his lead and sometimes hide behind him when I’m feeling unsure. With gentle encouragement, I’m beginning to enjoy my foster mom’s pets and kind gestures.
Energy Level
I’m quite a calm guy who’s content to stay in my little spot. A quiet home with a peaceful environment would be ideal for me as I build confidence.
Skills and Training
I’m still learning the basics like leash walking and potty training, but my foster mom says I’m making progress. I’ll need a family who can be patient with me and help me develop these new skills at my own pace.
Companionship
I would do best with a quiet, patient family who can help me feel safe and secure. With time and understanding, I’ll continue to come out of my shell and show my gentle, sweet nature.
Love and Affection
I may be a bit shy at first, but I have a lot of love to give once I feel safe. I’m learning every day that affection is a good thing, and I’m beginning to trust the gentle hands of my foster mom. With the right family, I know I’ll grow into a loyal, loving companion who’s grateful for every bit of kindness.
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
