About Cranberry
Hey y’all! I’m Cranberry, a sweet little berry of girl, only 16 lbs. The perfect size don't you think? I arrived to OPH on 11/15 making my way to VA from a full shelter in SC. Now I’m looking for a loving forever family to call my own. Is that with you? If so, please hit the apply button and let’s get our family started. This cuteness won't be around for long.

Personality
I’m a very sweet girl with a gentle heart, though I can be a bit shy when I first meet new people. Don’t worry though—I warm up after I know you're trustworthy and will come to you for pets and want to be picked up. I’m good with other dogs and would enjoy a doggie sibling for company. I also enjoy playing with toys on my own so foster mom believes I'd be okay as an only dog too to soak up all your attention. I really like foster mom's 2 year old granddaughter and wasn't shy when first meeting her. She's knows how to be gentle with animals.

Energy Level & Ideal Home
I’m calm and easygoing. I have blossomed outside of the shelter and in my foster home and with patience I will continue to gain more confidence. I would enjoy a fenced back yard to run around in and seem to enjoy little kids.

Skills and Training
* Leash Skills: I am pretty good on a leash but like to run around to smell the roses (and other things) if you know what I mean. Smelling things is mental stimulation for me and burns energy just like exercise.
*Crate Trained: I’m crate trained and will go in by myself sometimes to lay on my bed. Sleeps quietly all night.
*Food motivated so eager to learn new things you want to teach me.
*House trained for the most part with a good routine.

Love and Affection
If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who’s ready to be by your side, I could be your girl. I’m sweetband full of love to give. My foster mom says I’ll make a wonderful addition to any home. Can I come home with you soon?

This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog on 12/16 and 12/17 and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.

Cranberry Cranberry is currently being fostered in King William, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
