About Jeffers!
I am just a little guy that has had some good luck in my life already! In South Carolina I lived with a foster mom who taught me how to use the bathroom outside, sleep in a crate, and sit too! I made a long trip north with all my new skills, ready to find my forever home. I bet my luck will continue and a loving home will find me, maybe that is you!!
Personality
My foster mom says I am best described as an easy-going, cuddly-loving puppy! I am social and like to meet new kids and adults, especially if I can curl up in their lap, and even better if I can take a nap in their lap! I get along well with other dogs. Not much phases me, I am happy to go along with anything happening around me. I am attentive to the people around me, and I enjoy training with my foster mom. And most of all, I want to me with people and it is the snuggling on the couch that is my favorite.
Energy Level & Play Style
I like a walk, some sniff time in the yard, and to play a bit with the other dogs in the house. I also like to chase a ball and I play quietly with my toys by myself sometimes. Overall I play very gently. And then it's nap time, which is my favorite! I am very good and collapsing on a dog bed and staying there for a long time. I do not cause mischief in the house or get myself into trouble, I am happiest in the middle of that dog bed!
Skills and Training
Crate Trained: I sleep in my crate at night, and I stay in my crate during the day when my foster family goes out (no more than 3 to 4 hours).
House Trained: I am house trained as long as I get regular potty breaks, as frequently as hourly when I am playing. I go right away when I get outside, which is nice because it’s cold out there! I sleep 9 hours overnight in my crate without an accident.
Barking: I use my bark to alert people that something is different, and when other dogs bark I also join in. I sing a bit to to settle myself down when I go into my crate, for about 10 minutes. Other than that, I am quiet.
Companionship
I am a very loyal and cuddly companion! I am looking for someone would like me follow them around and then at the end of the day, sit and snuggle with me!
Love and Affection
I am very good at staying still for pets. Especially if there is a lap involved that I can sit in, and fall asleep!

Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
