About Basil
Hello! My name is Basil! I’m looking to end 2024 and start the new year off with my forever family! Is that with you? Must love kisses and snuggles. At 40lbs, I'm the perfect size to still qualify as a lap dog ;)
As much as I love a cuddle, I also like a good walk. Like every pup, I get the occasional zoomies and like to make my foster mom chuckle running around. I’m very friendly and haven’t met a stranger yet. My foster mom is helping me learn some manners to be an even better pup than I am now. She says I’m very smart and I catch on fast. I enjoy hanging out with my puppy foster siblings and they are helping me learn manners too.
Foster mom says I should also mention that I’m crate trained, though I’m a little fussy when I first get in. And I’m mostly house broken. I’ve had a couple accidents as I’m learning the routines and figuring out to signal I need to go out, but that part of the learning process in a new foster home. I’ll figure it out soon!
I hope if you’ve read this far, you’ve decided I’m the perfect fit to join the family! Go ahead and apply!
All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
