#3427 Gibbs

Adoptable
Large-size, Male, Senior Retriever,

Hello! My OPH name is Gibbs but I like to go by Theo. I am the golden bachelor you've been looking for!

I am 12 years old, about 70 lbs, and am guessed to be a Retriever mix. Despite my age, I have a youthful spirit and a playful twinkle in my eye that will melt your heart.

I love to go for walks (I actually walk a mile a day) or you can find me running around in the yard! I'm the best bunny and squirrel chaser, so put me on patrol duty any day (since I like to chase small fury creatures, please no cats in the adoptive home).

When I'm not being Mr. active you will find me curled up in my dog bed, sleeping the day away. I love to be with my people whether that's at your feet while you work or enjoying some r&r in the family room. Just make sure you give me belly rubs any time you pass by me, those are my favorite! I actually love to be with my people so much, I will probably become your shadow and follow you wherever you go... no problems with stairs here! You're going upstairs? I'm going upstairs! I'm the CEO of the Shadow Club!

I am looking for a home where I can be the star of the show because I thrive in a calm, adult-only environment. I may be best as the only dog in the home or other dogs should be calm and easily be able to respect boundaries. I bond deeply with my humans and will be your most loyal protector and friend. I excel in a structured environment where I can follow a routine and enjoy one-on-one time with my favorite person/persons.

Seriously, I'm the best of both worlds because I love to do things, but I'm also already house trained (no senior issues with holding it) and crate trained, so there's none of that puppy stage you have to deal with! I even know the command "crate" and go right in! I also know "sit", "come", "stay", and "shake". Click here to see me in action!

I may be in my golden years, but I still have plenty of love and loyalty to give. I'm looking for my forever home where I can spend my days surrounded by love, comfort, and the simple joys of life. If you're ready to open your heart, I promise to fill your life with unconditional love and tail-wagging happiness.

Adopt Gibbs and let his golden years be his best years yet!

Gibbs He is best in a home without cats. Gibbs is currently being fostered in Severna Park, MD.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
